      Four in a row

If opposing fans had any thoughts that Man Utd would be as easy a game this season as last season, this tour has been a bit of any eyeopener for them.

The squad of "Moyes failures" have surprised everyone, including themselves in this tournament set out to please various groups of sponsors.

Beating Roma was passed off by the opposition as, well they aren't exactly a high standard are they, so United moved on to play Inter, and face two old boys, Evra and Vidic, Ok they needed penalties, bu teven that for a team that couldn't hit a barn door last season was an achievement. After Inter came perhaps the sternest test, European Champions Real Madrid, United fans were at best hoping for a draw, what the players got was a demand from van Gaal to "go out and beat Real Madrid".

Some would see the scoreline and think that Real played a weakened team, but they didn't, some will think Real didn't play well, they did, when they were allowed to, the only time they scored was the one time Bale got past Keane and earned what looked like a dodgy penalty for his efforts, the Real supporting sections of the crowd screamed in delight as Bale equalised from the spot.

United though were on a roll, Fletcher and Hererra had control of the midfield, and the attack, whoever it was, seemed to be able to open the Real defence as if they had a key, United had more chances than it was possible to count. Real had their chances too, keeping the record 109,000 fans happy, although the red section was happier than the white, but then the white shirted fans were outnumbered by at least 20 to 1.

Uniteds next test comes in the shape of the old enemy Liverpool, who have done quite a bit of rebuilding, and most of that money has headed to Southampton.

It's been a good tour for United and its fans, despite van Gaal complaining about the itinerary, the timing, and humidity involved in the games, next season he has said that he wants a tour closer to home and shorter in duration.
