    • What is happening at Southampton
      GDubyah

When Southampton fans read of the transfer of Ricky Lambert to Liverpool some may have raised an eyebrow, others would haven't of cared about the sale of a forward who wasn't always first choice.

At least the fans could look back on a season where they had finished higher than ever in the Premier league, and despite Pochetino leaving, they could look forward to a new season with Ronald Koeman at the helm.

Then the news came through that Lallana was to follow...

    • Gerrard retires from international football
      GDubyah

So Steven Gerrard announces that he has retired from international football, and the good thing is that hardly anyone took any notice, it didn't even get a mention on the late news as a by line, and because it's been done out of season we wont see a half hour long montage of clips from the sports channels celebrating his under achievement as Captain of the England team.

On wag on Facebook commented that Gerrard has retired from "not winning the world cup"...

    • Suraez ban is unfair
      GDubyah

That may sound wrong coming from a United fan, but never the less it is true.

Putting a world wide ban on a player for something that happened in an International match is just wrong, especially when it happened outside the auspices of the European game. The ban placed on Suarez means that he cannot even take part in organised football training, read properly it means that he shouldn't even kick a ball in public.

Why should his club be punished ?

    • Carrick should be in Brazil
      GDubyah

I've read some stupid things in my time, but today David Kent takes the proverbial biscuit, with the line that "Michael Carrick is Englands Pirlo" !

I can understand some of the confusion, mainly that they both play in midfield, and that I'm afraid is where any similarity ends, Carrick is not 35, neither does he have long hair, or a beard, and the biggest difference of all, Carrick doesn't have the skill set that Pirlo has.

      Kent is keen to point...

      GDubyah

That very reliable source of football news Goal.com is reporting that Manchester United have offered Luke Shaw a contract worth £160k a week, what makes this story even more unbelievable is that recently Adnan Janzaj signed a new deal with the club to make him the best paid teenager in Europe on £55k a week, and also cast your minds back, this is the same club that in the Ferguson era refused to pay Paul Pogba what now seems like a paltry £20k a week.

      So what makes...
